From Our 2018 President
I’m writing this blog post on the longest night of the year, the Winter Solstice. This is the time of year that nature is asking us to hunker down, stay warm, rest. Spend time with our loved ones. Slow down. Listen rather than speak.
In the winter, the earth sleeps. Animals hibernate, seeds rest in suspended animation. The cycles of the earth demonstrate the absolute confidence that even in the darkest night, there is light. The earth celebrates that light with joyful expectancy.
In our own lives, we have planted our seeds. We are planting them with our words and thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. We are reminded during this time of year of the call in our faith that even in the darkness, the light is here. I love the holiday season, with all the lights and decorations. I love the opportunities for generosity and kindness. This season comes with wishes of Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All. The holiday season is a rhythmic time of year to consciously embody the great abundance that is God.
To me, Columbia Center for Spiritual Living is a place and a community of people where I can rest in the light, in the absolute knowledge of the truth of Peach on Earth and Goodwill to All.
As the new President of the Board of Directors, I am blessed and honored to serve this community. I wish you Peace, Love, and Abundant Blessings.
